Back in late May, I wrote a post called "The Art of the Setup: Why the Grind Never Stops," where I talked about the unseen work, testing material, and building a set behind the scenes before anyone sees the finished product.
If it feels like it’s been a minute since then, it’s because all that setup quickly turned into action. A lot has moved, and I wanted to bring you all up to speed on where that grind has taken us since then.
First off, I had the incredible opportunity to travel out to Los Angeles with my best friend, Jason Cordova. While out on the West Coast, I got to watch Jason feature for Sam Jay at the Netflix Is A Joke Festival, and I had the privilege of hosting for Sam Jay at The Peppermint Club in LA. Experiencing that level of talent, energy, and stage presence was a massive reminder of why we push so hard.
✈️ Next Up: LA & Tacoma, Washington!
The West Coast run isn't stopping there. I’m heading back out to Los Angeles on August 8th to pull up and try to grab a spot on stage at Chocolate Sundays. Right after that, I’m headed up to Tacoma, Washington for Nate Jackson’s Super Funny Comedy Festival running from August 10th through August 16th! If you're in the West Coast area or know people out there, tell them to tap in.
Why October 27th Means Everything
All these moves are full-circle moments for me. Every artist has a date that shifts their life's trajectory, and for me, that date is October 27th.
In 2016, I lost my mother. Exactly one year later, on October 27, 2017, I stepped onto a comedy stage for the very first time. Taking that mic wasn't just about trying stand-up—it was about honoring her memory, keeping that creative spark alive, and turning pain into purpose.
Every stage I’ve set foot on over these last nine years traces back to that exact day. The biggest lesson I’ve learned on this journey is simple: never quit on your dream, stay locked in, and keep pushing no matter what life throws at you.
And now back home in Boston, all that setup is paying off with the next major move...
